About Me
I began my love affair with glass as a teenager, when my father went to a meeting of the local historical society in Grafton, MA, where there was a demo by Leigh B. Howell of Chelmsford, MA who was a glass artist. That evening, he came home saying, “You would like this!”, and he put me in touch with Leigh who became my first glass instructor. Shortly thereafter, I had a torch set up in the basement of my family’s home! I have been involved in many different types of glass art over the years and started making beads late in 2002. I love the color palette of "soft" glass and the detailed design possibilities on a small surface have ignited my creativity and every bead I make is an exciting experience for me! Most of what I create is large, one of a kind art glass focal beads. Each one of my beads is individually handcrafted by me in my studio. I don’t use any studio assistants, and each bead is a piece of art that is unique. All of my beads are carefully annealed for strength and durability in a digitally controlled kiln, and then individually cleaned with a diamond reamer. I hope you love my work just as much as I enjoy creating it for you!
